Private Practice

Latrobe Medical Centre, Traralgon is now a private medical practice, we will continue to bulk bill the following appointments *ONLY upon Doctor discretion*.

  • Children under 17 (with Valid Medicare card)
  • Veterans Affairs Gold Card holders
  • Pension/ concession Card holder * only upon Doctor discretion

Current Pension Card and Concession Card Holders

For anyone who holds a current pension card or concession card, please bring your Medicare Card and pension / concession cards to your appointment.

Out of Pocket Fees

There will be out of pocket fees for the following and full payment is expected and appreciated on the day.

  • Procedures
  • Flu/Travel Vaccines
  • Medicals
  • Workcover and TAC

Appointments

Appointments may be made in person, telephone or via online system during business hours or directly via our website or Hotdoc conveniently and instantly.

We accommodate walk-in appointments.

Telephone and telehealth appointments are available during business hours.

Home visit

Home visits may be available to our regular patients whose condition prevent them from attending the medical Centre. Please check with reception or your doctor for further information.

You will be informed if fees will be incurred.

NON-Attendance Fees will be charged for missed appointments.

Please advise reception staff upon your arrival.

Same-day appointments are available. You can make appointments by calling reception on (03) 5174 0555, via our website or Hotdoc.  A standard appointment is 15 minutes. If you need a longer appointment (if you have several issues you would like to discuss) please let the receptionist know at the time of booking. If you need to cancel or are running late, please let us know as soon as possible as missed appointments fees apply.

Results / Recalls / Reminders

All results are reviewed by your doctor. Doctors at Latrobe Medical Centre like to discuss all your results with you in person at an appointment.

We have an extensive computerised recall and follow–up reminder system. If you do not wish to be automatically placed in our recall system, please let us know.

Privacy

Your medical record is strictly confidential and private. We will not release any information to a third party without your prior consent, except as required by law. All staff sign a confidentiality clause as part of their employment conditions.

Communication

Telephone Calls

Your doctor is available by telephone during opening hours; however because calls may inconvenience other patients while having their consultation, messages can be left for the doctor to return your call in a timely manner.

In some cases, the nurse or receptionist may be able to assist you. If your call is urgent you will be put through to a clinical staff member.

Communicating Via Email

Emails are checked periodically throughout the day and will usually be actioned within one business day. Please do not email us regarding an urgent matter.

If you need to speak with us urgently during our opening hours, or you have not received a reply to your email please contact us by phone.

Feedback

We value the opinion and feedback from our patients on all aspects of the practice. We welcome any suggestions that you feel will improve our service. If you have any concerns or complaints please contact our Practice Manager. If you would like to take a complaint further please contact the Health Services Commissioner on 8601 5222 or 1800 136 066.

Costs of other services

If you are referred to a specialist or other health professionals, you may incur a cost and be expected to pay on the day of your service.
